Clove's Story

Clove is such a bright, happy, affectionate, loyal dog. She is kisses and tail wags, cuddles and fetch. Clove came to us when her former owner became incarcerated. Despite the unfortunate plot twist in her life, Clove is eager for a redo and the chance of finding a stable home.

- Approximate date of birth is 12/3/25 making Clove about 11 months old

- 47 pounds, this girl is petite and such a nice medium size

- Best guess on breed mix is German Shepherd/Pit Bull but it's really anyone's best guess. Clove is a stunning girl and photos don't do her justice!

- Does great with other dogs and is fostered with two rowdy large breed boy dogs that she tolerates well. She is also fostered with a small dog who is about 18 pounds and is good with him. Clove has lived in pack situation all her life.

- Likely fine with cats. We got Clove's brother into rescue also and he is in foster with cats and is very polite interacting with the cats. It's likely they may have grown up from puppyhood with cats.

- Social and sweet with all people. Adores both men and women. Very affiliative and handler focused. We have not seen her with children but we believe she would do fine with gentle kids. She very much has a goofy older puppy personality that could probably be comfortable residing with children.

- Cuddly and enjoys snuggling on the couch or anywhere that you're willing to share a snuggles with her.

- Ball motivated and LOVES the game of catch! She will bring it back too.

- Very treat motivated and loves to train with her person. Knows "sit" very well and often auto sits for treats.

- No leash reactivity to other dogs or people observed.

- Doing well with potty habits and has only had one potty accident in foster so far.

- Rides nice in the car in her crate. Jumps right in. She does have some car sickness though so an anti-nausea medication might really help her on longer car rides.

- Struggles being crated and has escaped a wire crate initially in foster care. We are trying Clove in a heavier duty plastic crate to see if that works better for her. She would love a home where she is not expected to be crated long hours.

Clove is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Tualatin or Portland.

$200 adoption fee

Fostered in Lincoln City, but her foster mom makes regular trips to Portland, so a meet and greet could be set here in Portland if Lincoln City is too far of a drive.

COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE FOR CLOVE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG
