Cloe (4)'s Story

Hi! I'm Cloe (4), and I'm 3 years and 2 months old. I'm a medium-sized girl weighing 25 lbs, with a beautiful short brown coat. Im about to reach my second anniversary in the adoption program, and even though I've patiently waited all this time, I still haven't found my forever family.

My situation has become more urgent because the people caring for me need to leave the house where we currently live, and they still haven't found a place where they can move with all the rescued dogs in their care.

I used to live on the streets with several other dogs until a kind-hearted woman started feeding us. Even though she didn't have a car and lived far away, she did everything she could to have us spayed and neutered before more litters were born. Eventually, she decided to take us in, hoping to find us loving homes. Through the adoption program, I was dewormed and vaccinated.

At first, I was a very shy and fearful girl, but I've changed so much since I started living indoors. Today, I'm a sweet, calm, and very affectionate companion. I get along well with other dogs and also with the cats in the house. I love playing with balls and stuffed toys, and I spend most of my time indoors, only going out to the patio to do my business or have some fun with my canine friends.

I can still get scared if someone speaks to me too loudly, probably because of difficult experiences I went through before I was rescued. That's why my ideal home would be a calm one, where I can adjust at my own pace and where I'll be shown, with patience and love, that I'm safe now.

I've waited a long time for my family. All I'm asking for is a quiet place where I can finally feel safe, loved, and at home.

I hope to find a loving and responsible family that will take good care of me!

Gente Por Los Animales's Adoption Policy
Once the adopter's information is submitted – name, phone number, address, email, and the name of the animal they wish to adopt – a volunteer from the organization will contact them within the next three business days, either electronically or by phone, to conduct an interview via video call in order to verify that the requirements are met and to complete the adoption form. If the application is approved, we will schedule the delivery of the dog or cat to begin their two-week trial period, allowing the adopting family to spend time with the animal and decide if they want to adopt them permanently. All animals are delivered dewormed, vaccinated, and sterilized. A recovery fee of 20 USD per animal is requested for delivery in Mexicali, Baja California. We can also cross the border to El Centro, Calexico, Heber, or Yuma, but in this case, it is necessary to place a microchip in the dogs, which incurs an additional cost of 25 USD. Eventually, we can transport the animals to San Diego or Los Angeles, but a 40 USD transportation fee is requested.
