Cleo's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Cleo is a 5 1/2 year old female basset, who, along with her basset pal, Mosho, was surrendered to GGBR. Initially timid, Cleo has really warmed up and has become more outgoing in her foster home. Her previous owner mentioned that Cleo is afraid of men, but since there are no men in Cleo's foster home, we can't be sure whether that is still the case. Cleo and Mosho came from a home with children, but because Cleo tends to jump on people, which could frighten, or knock over a very young child, she is recommended for older children, or adults. Cleo is an adept and determined counter-surfer, which her foster home is working on! Her previous owner said that Cleo gets along well with other dogs, but has fought with another dog over high-value food and treats, such as bones. She is, supposedly, not particularly possessive of her regular kibble and her owner reported no resource guarding behavior with humans. Cleo is potty-trained and is up to date on vaccinations and heartworm prevention. She will be spayed and ready for her new home after March 8, 2026. Cleo would be fine in a home with a doggie playmate, or as an only dog.
