Clemon's Story
Meet Clemon!

Clemon is a handsome young adult Hound boy who's looking for his special home. Clemon and brother Clancy were found as strays and brought into the Prineville Humane Society. They think that they might have been dumped as puppies. He's currently in temporary foster care here in Bend. He's cleared for adoption and ready to join his new family for those exciting adventures to come.

Foster Update 5/28:
Foster Update: Clemon & Elvis

Clemon and Elvis continue settling into foster care and we've learned so much more about both of their personalities!

Clemon is a sweet and more independent little guy who tends to march to the beat of his own drum. He's not especially clingy or overly snuggly, but he enjoys companionship in his own quieter way. He definitely has some classic hound traits - curious, thoughtful, and more scent-and-environment focused than constantly people-focused. Clemon is still working through some carsickness and has occasionally lifted his leg indoors, so continued structure, supervision, and consistency will be important as he adjusts to a new home and routine.

Elvis, on the other hand, is an affectionate, goofy, toy-loving boy who absolutely lights up when it's time to play fetch or head out on an adventure. He rides wonderfully in the car, does excellent in a crate, and has done very well with house manners in foster care. Elvis is the definition of a giant lap dog and would thrive with someone who is home more often and looking for a loyal companion to join them for hikes, outings, walks, and everyday adventures. He could be an especially great fit for someone interested in continuing training, including recall work and eventually outdoor/off-leash activities in appropriate settings. While he enjoys other dogs, we could also see him thriving as the center of attention in a single-dog household.

Both boys continue showing us more of their personalities every day, and we're excited to help find the right fit for each of them!

Will you be his hero?

PupFax: Clemon
Adoption Status: Available for Immediate Adoption
Medical Status: Cleared
Location: Bend/Central Oregon
Rescue Intake Type: Local/Bend, Oregon

At-a-Glance Stats -

Age: 1 year 6 months (approximate)

Breed: Red Tick Hound

Size: Medium-Large

Weight: 50-60 pounds (Approx. last weigh-in)

Sex: Male

Spayed/Neutered: Yes

Vaccinations: Up to date (core vaccinations)

Microchipped: No

Personality & Temperament:

Energy level:

Home & Lifestyle Fit -

People: Good (a little timid at first, but warms up and is friendly)

Dogs: Good (Has done well with owner's pack of several dogs)

Cats: Unknown at this time

Kids: Unknown at this time (untested)

Activity Level:

Ideal Home:

Training & Manners -

House/Potty Trained: Yes

Crate Trained: Yes

Leash Skills: No training

Commands Known: Unknown at this time

Food/Treat Motivation:

Health Notes -

Overall Health: Good

Known Medical Needs: N/A

(All known medical and behavioral information is disclosed prior to adoption.)
