Claus & Tannen's Story

(Santa) Claus and Tannen(baum) are adorable 11 month old “traditional” salt and pepper Mini Schnauzers who can in right before Christmas, thus the names. 😉 They were owner surrendered to rescue because the owners had too many dogs. These are normal, healthy puppies who are relatively quiet and mostly housetrained, and very social. They love affection and attention from their people, and wrestling with each other!

They are learning about so many new things. They have experienced their first snow, and are loving playing in it! They seem to be fine with other dogs with proper introductions. They love to snuggle with their foster people, and they sleep through the night. They are just now learning to walk together on a leash. They don’t pull on the leash, but are just learning to walk by your side. They have learned to sit for their food and for their leashes to be put on.

Claus seems to be the “alpha” dog, with Tannen being a little timid with new people and in new situations. Claus’s fur is a little lighter, and has more white in it. He is also about 2 pounds heavier than Tannen at 16 pounds. Tannen is learning to play fetch with a tennis ball. Claus can be a little mouthy and both of them like anything to chew. Tannen is a little more food/treat motivated.

Both boys are neutered, they are up to date on vaccinations (rabies, distemper and kennel cough), vet checked, heartworm tested negative and on preventative while in rescue, and microchipped. If you would like to meet Claus and Tannen, go cominischnauzerrescue.com and complete the on-line adoption application. They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. We suggest that you print a copy of the application before you hit the “submit” button, just in case! We will give you a call to set up a time to bring Claus and Tannen for a visit.

If you have completed an adoption application within the last 12 months, or have previously adopted from Vintage Dog Rescue and would like to meet Claus and Tannen, please let us know. Previous adopters, experienced schnauzer owners, retired adopters or people who work from home, and people with a fenced backyard will be given preference.
