He’s a true couch potato who’s happiest stretched out nearby, soaking up snuggles and keeping life simple. He doesn’t get into mischief—no trash diving or shoe stealing here—and he’s wonderfully content just being part of the household.<br/><br/>His energy level is very low and very manageable. A backyard to wander and lounge in suits him just fine, and while he enjoys a walk, one is more than enough for the day. Claude also happens to love car rides and is always ready to hop in and go meet new people. He genuinely loves everyone and everything, greeting the world with a calm, friendly curiosity.<br/><br/>Claude is fully house trained, walks nicely on a leash, and does great in the car. He’s never been crated and hasn’t needed to be—he settles easily and makes himself at home. Training has been straightforward thanks to his laid-back personality and people-focused nature.<br/><br/>In his foster home, Claude lives with two other large dogs and does beautifully. He also lives with a 13-year-old and a 4-year-old and is incredibly gentle and careful with children of all ages. Strangers don’t faze him at all; he’s welcoming to men, women, and visitors alike. He hasn’t been tested with cats in foster care.<br/><br/>Claude came into rescue after spending time on the streets alongside a pregnant female Great Dane. Both were underweight, covered in ticks, and clearly had a rough start, but they were sweet from the very beginning.
