Clancy's Story
Clancy appears to have been a dog that was hit by a car and brought to a vets office, then turned over to animal control when the owner either failed to show up or abandoned the dog there. He had some places where there is hair missing on the top of his head and scrapes to his legs, etc. He was terribly scared at the shelter and did not like being handled. Clancy needed rescue to allow him to heal and trust people. We loved Clancy from the moment we met him, he quietly curled up in my lap and relaxed. He is definitely feeling better and now loves to use those long legs to run and trot around the house. This is an elegant dog, and his color is fantastic fire red. In honor of St. Patty's day, all this week's dogs were given irish names and Clancy's is fitting as it means red warrior. Clancy is leery at first, but loving when handled. He would do best with an adult home or no toddlers. He likes to play with other dogs and loves to be where you are. He is only 2 years old and weighs a skinny 8lbs. and is doing very well with crate training and may be housebroken.
