Cisco's Story
Cisco is currently living and training with his handlers at Beaumont Correctional Center.

Through a partnership with the Virginia Department of Corrections, Pixie's Pen Pals (a program of FETCH a Cure) places homeless dogs in the care of incarcerated people for dedicated, individualized training and socialization guided by canine behavior specialists.

The bio below was provided by his handlers at Beaumont Correctional:

Hello, Beautiful People, Cisco here. I’m a black and tan hound/dobie mix, 1 year old. I’m very mild mannered, pretty laidback, quiet, and already potty trained. My biggest issue right now is that I’m fearful of new people, but I have some very dedicated guys to help me overcome my fears and build my confidence so I can become my best self. I really thrive in the company of my four-legged friends and they help me to come out of my shell. I’m my most joyful when playing with other dogs and I have very nice play skills.

With my team’s help and a bit of time, I will become the bundle of love and joy your home has been longing for. My ideal adopters would live in a calm home, have a bit of patience for me, and perhaps another dog in the family for me to play with.
