Meet Churri, a 9-month-old double merle Australian Shepherd born May 22, 2025.<br/><br/>Churri may be blind and deaf, but she is one of the most capable, loving, and joyful dogs you will ever meet. She experiences the world through scent, touch, texture, and carefully measured steps, and she does it with confidence.<br/><br/>Sweet, affectionate, and deeply connected to her people, Churri loves being near your feet when you are sitting and happily follows alongside you as you move throughout the day. She finds comfort in gently touching the side of your leg and thrives on physical connection and consistency.<br/><br/>She has completed six professional training classes through Dog Spot (August 26 and October 1 sessions), focusing on specialized touch and feel communication for blind and deaf dogs. Churri is incredibly smart, eager to please, and learns quickly. She knows sit, spin, and lay, walks nicely on leash, is kennel trained, confidently navigates stairs, and loves to run in the yard and play with toys.<br/><br/>She does a wonderful job overnight in her kennel and has learned to confidently map her environment. While she takes to training beautifully, her adopter will need to continue working within her communication style and maintain clear, consistent routines.<br/><br/>Churri must have another dog in the home. She thrives with a canine companion and gains confidence from having a buddy nearby.<br/><br/>She is truly something special.
