Chuck - Available In Foster's Story

Chuck is a sweet, sensitive little guy who is figuring out that the world isn't out to get him He came to us as a stray from local animal control, and while no one came looking for him, it was clear he was once someone's "cute puppy" who didn't get the training or confidence-building he deserved. He did not do well with shelter life, so one of our experienced foster families took Chuck in. In a structured, loving home with other dogs, Chuck is truly blossoming and showing us how smart, sweet, and resilient he is. He loves playing and walking with his foster-siblings. When he first arrived, he paced around the house often, but now he's learning to relax instead. He sleeps all night in his crate. When he's not busy playing with his foster-sister, he'll nuzzle into his foster parents, lean on them, and politely request pets like it's his full-time job.

In his foster home, he's quickly learned that the "scary" things like doorways and cars passing are not scary at all. As he transitions to his forever family, he will probably need structure, training, and time to realize the new things in his new house aren't scary either. But expect Chuck to learn quickly!

Chuck is incredibly sweet, eager to connect, and does best with patience, consistency, and a gentle approach. He is prone to counter surfing, although he has learned not to do that in his foster home. He does not chew, but has a sweet, mischievous habit of moving shoes He loves playing and being active, so continuing to learn to relax will be important for him. He's the kind of dog that will make you laugh, melt your heart, and feel so proud of every little win. If you're looking for a dog who will love you deeply, keep you humble, and occasionally act like a 60lb baby who just needs a hug-Chuck is your guy
