Chuck's Story

10/14/24: Foster to adopt home needed! Everyone meet Chuck! He came to us just a few days ago from the Jefferson County Dog Control where he was brought in as a stray. Chuck is the perfect mix of playful and sweet. This little cute is estimated to be ~8-10 months old and just 27 #. He is a terrier mix that is a little shy at first, but quick to warm up. He's a great mix of playful yet cuddly and he gets along with dogs and cats of all sizes. With a little TLC, we are sure he will make some lucky family a wonderful new addition. Due to his size and acivity level, foster to adopt requirements are: •Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY to continue his vetting as needed in the upcoming weeks. •Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered. •He should do fine with dogs and cats in the home! •Homes with children over 10 years old should be ok since he is a pretty active pup at this time. •Willing to have current dogs/family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure they are an acceptable match. •Having time available to care for, socialize and start training of a new pet. An adoption donation of $450 is being asked, if you decide to adopt, but fostering is free!! He had his vet check, is current on vaccines, intestinal, heartworm and external parasite treatment and he has been boostered and neutered. All Creatures Big And Small, Inc.'s Adoption Policy

All animals accepted into our program are in volunteer foster homes. Since we don't have a shelter building, meet and greets are arranged after an application has been approved. The first step in our adoption process is filling out an adoption application and calling your current/previous veterinarian to say it's ok to release veterinary information to us. Within 48 hours of receiving the application, we will do the veterinary reference check and contact you for additional information and to do a phone interview. If all goes well, a meet and greet is scheduled. All family members must come to the meet and greet (including dogs) to make sure it is a good match and everyone is on board to adopt a new pet. If it is decided that the pet is a good match, an adoption can be done at that time and the pet can go home with you All adopters must live within 500 miles of Lacona, NY. We will not ship pets and all family members, including dogs, must travel to the adoption to be sure the pets and family are good with the potential new adoption.
