Chop's Story

Chop is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.

Meet Chop—your soon-to-be favorite little pork chop. 2 -3 years old, this sweet boy has life figured out: keep it cozy, keep it close, and keep the love coming. Chop is completely house trained and crate-savvy, happily settling in when you’re away. He’s the kind of pup who will chop any stress in your day just by leaning into you for a cuddle—his signature move.

Chop’s the total package: a gentle soul, a wiggly butt, and a certified meatball. He gets along with everyone—dogs, kids of all ages, and basically any human lucky enough to meet him. He’s not one to chop up the peace with unnecessary barking (just a polite heads-up at the doorbell), and he knows his manners too—“sit,” “come,” “drop it,” and “no” are all in his skill set. Whether he’s lounging on the couch, snoozing on the floor, or soaking up pets, Chop is all about that easygoing life.

When it’s time to play, Chop can really chop it up! He loves balls, ropes, and a good romp outside, but he’s just as happy winding down with a chew toy (which usually leads to a quick nap). He eats like a champ and thrives on routine and affection. If you’re looking for a dog who will have you, chop-chop! Don’t wait! This lovable, low-key, all-around amazing boy is ready to be yours.

We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog.

Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!
