Cholito's Story

We would like to introduce you to Cholito, a gentle and soulful 6- to 7-year-old Chihuahua who was surrendered by his owners. Weighing barely 5 pounds and NOT a yappie dog. Hallelujah ?.

Cholito deeply misses his family, and we are doing our best to comfort him during this difficult time. We’re happy to share that he is adjusting well, but finding a permanent home would be best for him.

Cholito is an incredibly sweet boy who is well-mannered and gets along wonderfully with everyone, including children. He thrives with a nurturing approach and craves the companionship he has always known. Cholito is poised, self-disciplined, and enjoys the company of both humans and other dogs. He's a happy, active person in a calming manner.

His previous family was a loving and active household where he was included in all aspects of life—surrounded by children of various ages and visiting pets. Music and food are his favorite comforts, and it's clear that he cherishes being close to people. Cholito has been neutered and had the dental care he needed. 17 teeth removed.

Cholito has a heartfelt story; after 58 years in the USA, his elderly owners made the incredibly tough decision to return to their home country due to safety concerns stemming from the current political climate. This was not an easy choice for them. Cholito is now searching for a place where he can feel safe, cherished, and have loving companionship once again.

He is a well-mannered and well-trained little companion who gets along well with dogs of all sizes, cats, and children of all ages. He is both house and crate trained, walks well on a leash, and is also comfortable off-leash. Cholito responds beautifully to basic obedience commands in both Spanish and English, showcasing his adaptability and intelligence. The dedication his owners showed in training him speaks volumes about how much they loved him and how dedicated they were to his well-being. Their heartfelt request is for Cholito to find a kind and nurturing home where he can continue to thrive.

If you're looking for a sweet companion to share your life with, Cholito would surely fill your heart with love. A home with a soft, playful dog, a secure fence in the yard, and someone who is home most of the time is best for him. Cholito is accustomed to dedicated daily morning and evening walks. He is a soft, gentle, easy-going, loving, and soulful dog. Cholito walks 3 miles a day effortlessly.
