Chocolate Chip's Story
Meet Chocolate Chip!
Nickname: Chip, Win One for the Chipper
Fun Fact: Chip doesn’t see, but that nose of his takes him right where he wants to go! Like Toucan Sam used to say, “Follow your nose!”
Rescue: Albert's Dog Lounge
Age: Senior
Weight: 41 lbs
Health issues: Chip is blind and doesn’t hear so well, but he is otherwise healthy and happy
History: Chip followed another dog back to its house after that dog had taken an unauthorized trip into the woods. The yard he wandered into was that of an amazing Alabama rescuer, who immediately contacted Albert’s about a life in Wisconsin. The assumption is that Chip was a hunting dog until he was no longer able to see, and he was then dumped, as this is a thing down there.
Foster home: Madison, WI
Activity level: Low
Friendly with: Adults, respectful children, and other dogs. Cats are an unknown.
Sleep style: Chip sleeps on a dog bed or in a crate in a room separate from humans. He seems to like his space at night.
Meals: Chip eats dry kibble - heaping 1 cup 2x per day (trying to gain some weight), with a little fish oil and a little churro meal topper. Favorite snack is cheese. He definitely BELONGS in Wisconsin!
Bark-o-meter: 1/10
Shedding meter: 2/10
Fashion: a camo coat with blaze orange accents, so he can relive his (presumed) hunting days in Alabama. Every trucker hat that Bass Pro Shops has to offer. Also Carhartt and Dickeys anything!
Walk out song: “Superstition" by Stevie Wonder. Another great who is vision impaired, just like Chip!
Favorite season: Fall! So many things to sniff and animals to follow!
Personality: Chip just wants all the loves and the cuddles and the belly rubs and the cheeeeeeese!
Best feature: His super soft fur and his darling personality
Signature Move: rolling over for tummy rubs
Love Language: love, in any shape or form
Loves: Finding all the treats in the snuffle mat…. This boy is seriously FAST and THOROUGH! Who needs eyes for that? Not this boy!
Bucket list: Learning to use the internet and your credit card. He thinks Amazon would be a super idea!

Neutered
Microchipped
Housebroken
Good on leash, but he likes to meander and assumes you want to follow.
Does well in a kennel or out of it
UTD on vaccinations
UTD on preventatives

Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs.

Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog.
