Chocolate's Story

Chocolate was surrendered in deplorable condition. Infested with fleas, bedbugs and intestinal parasites landed him in the critical care unit at our emergency vet for blood transfusion, IV fluids and close monitoring. BUT this little trooper came through with flying colors! He really is a walking miracle!
He's very sweet, loves his treats, loves his humans. He hasn't learned that sharing is caring when it comes to food or toys. His foster is working with him on that. Without any of the aforementioned, he is great with other pups but is perfectly content being the only one in the house getting love! He would do best in a house vs an apartment or connected townhomes as he does like to talk a lot (also working on his chatterbox little self :) ).
He still has a bit of hair to grow back secondary to flea dermatitis, but boy, he sure is a handsome guy with or without all his hair :).
*New Hanover or surrounding counties only at this time (for adoption)

Freedom Bridge Animal Rescue NC, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
All fosters and adopters are screened to include a vet check and home check prior to placing any pup. We often have pre-adoption events where potential adopters can meet the pups. IF they find a pup they are interested in, an application is completed along with the checks noted above. We bring the pup over and help with any meet and greets as needed, along with supplies for a week as we offer a one week trial prior to needing to commit. IF the pup is not ready yet (e.g. more vaccines, altering, etc) the pup can go as a foster to adopt during which time that pup is still under our ownership until all has been completed.
