Choco's Story
Check out our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs!Updated: 3/29/2026
Dog Name: Choco
Sex: Male
Estimated Breed: Rat Terrier/Chihuahua/Aussie Mix
Approximate Age: 9 months
Birthdate: 6/1/25
Approximate Weight: 15 lbs
Spay/Neuter Status: Neutered
Description:
Choco and his sweet siblings were desperately in need of a hero as their home was becoming overwhelming with so many animals. They risked creating more unwanted litters and our Tx rescue partners stepped in to save 10 pups between two litters!

Choco is a snuggly, playful pup with the sweetest personality! This little guy loves to have fun but also has a calm and cuddly side that makes him extra special. He absolutely loves being near his people and is a total cuddle bug who will happily snuggle up whenever he gets the chance! Choco does great with kids (even very young ones) and enjoys being part of the family. He gets along well with other dogs and learning that big dogs aren't scary.

For a puppy, Choco has wonderful manners! He is about 90% housebroken, is working on crate training, and is learning how to walk on a leash. He already walks nicely and doesn’t pull, which is impressive for a young pup. Choco also does extremely well with redirection. One of his favorite activities is enjoying the seat warmer in the car! He may not be the biggest fan of the chilly WI weather, but he’ll happily trade the cold for a warm blanket and some cuddle time.

Choco is such a loving pup who is hoping for his second chance at a forever home. Apply to meet him!
Adoption Fee: $450We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433

***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time, we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians.
Our Weight Classes are as follows:
0- 25lbs - Small
26- 45lbs - Medium
46-89 - Large
90+ X-large
If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following:
Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped.
If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days.
Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home.
If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home.
If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out.
