Her humans from Cedar Falls, Iowa, have now had children and feel she deserves a better home that can give her more time. They made the tough decision to place her in a no-kill rescue so she is now a Waverly Pet Rescue dog. She is living in a foster home. Chloe is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and spayed. We had senior wellness bloodwork done on her at our vet when we took her in because Chloe is about 10 years old as of November 2025. <br/><br/>Meet Miss Chloe! She’s the sweetest and shy little lady with a big personality. Chloe may be in her golden years, but don’t let that fool you—she’s still full of spunk! She loves her walks, gets the zoomies, and will happily show off her playful side. Chloe is a tiny queen who knows her boundaries. She’s very protective of her food and isn’t shy about running the big dogs out of her space—size doesn’t scare her one bit! When it comes to cuddles, Chloe calls the shots. She’ll paw at you for pets and belly rubs when she’s ready, and at night, she’s perfectly content snoozing in her own bed or curled up at the foot of yours. Need to go outside? Chloe will do her adorable happy dance and wait patiently by the door for her harness and leash. To say she’d be a wonderful addition to your family is an understatement—Chloe is pure joy wrapped in fur!<br/><br/>Chloe is house trained and crate trained and knows some simple commands such as sit, twirl and lay down. She is ok with other dogs but prefers humans as company. She has never been around cats. Since she is protective of her food, a home with older children would be best. She needs to either have a fenced in yard of always be on a tie-out because she will wander off if left out.<br/><br/>Chloe's bloodwork indicates that she has an elevated liver enzyme (ALT) so Dr started her on a liver supplement, and we will recheck the values in 30 days. It's not elevated enough to be a major concern, but something we want to address to help maintain healthy liver function. We will update this in 30 days once she goes back in.<br/><br/>$100.00 adoption fee for Chloe.<br/><br/>WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.<br/>Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $450 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
