Personality Traits: She is a vocal tease, lol, when she plays. She loves to play fetch with a tennis ball. She will bring it back, but enjoys teasing you with it. She is growly with the ball and toys, but appears to be just a very vocal dog. If you don't want to tug on the ball, she will get the hint and drop it in your hands. She will come tell you when she wants something, to go outside or dinner time. She loves to snuggle in bed all night. Training Progress: We are working at a better heal while walking, but walks very nice already. Started to use “Sit, Stay” while at doors and before they start to eat. Socialization: She loves people and older children. Have not interacted with young children under 12. She likes to aggressively shower you with kisses. She is curious about cats and sometimes chases them, but is very afraid if they were to challenge her. She is pretty easy going with dogs, does not play the typical rough bully style play with dogs. She rather enjoys the catch me if you can, and you are not getting the toy. She does display resource guarding, but is lessening. Guarding of food or treats happens when there is little structure. For example, sitting below the counter while someone is making food, she may let out a small warning growl if they are too close waiting for something to drop. If there is a foot or two of separation, there is not issue. She is given treats in a line with the other two dogs in the foster home, with no issues. She is easily corrected. Toys seem to be more just vocal play and is learning to be more trusting. Her guarding is only ever a warning, she never pushes the issue further. Best described as firm but fair, lacking a mean bone in her body to act. She backs down when put in her place by another dog, but will also put a dog in their place. Does not appear to want conflict. She has mild separation anxiety, but will patiently wait for you to return. She likes to aggressively gives kisses, so older children may be best.
