Come meet Chispa! Chipsa is a 7 year old Whippet mix, who before coming to the shelter lived a life of neglect as an outdoor dog. Despite that, Chipsa has a heart overflowing with love for people, other dogs- not so much! While not outwardly reactive to other dogs out on walks, Chispa would need to be the only pet in the home. Chipsa has recently gone on trips out of the shelter to get a break and did well! She rode in the car like a champ, loved roaming around the park and took selfies (only on her good side). We are open 12-5pm daily for you to come meet our wonderful adoptable animals. If you would like to submit an application prior to your visit please head to ahscares.org/adopt and click the Newark link to begin your application. Please note no application is approved prior to meeting the animal you are interested in adopting, so please come to the shelter & bring the family to meet a pet.
