CHISPA's Story

CHISPA: SMALL SPARK, BIG FIREWORK SHOW My name means spark, but whoever named me clearly underestimated the situation. I'm more like a full-scale fireworks display with bonus zoomies. I'm a young, spayed Pit Bull mix who loves to stay busy and make every day an adventure. I came to the shelter with my best buddy, Vaquero, and I take my job as his personal life coach very seriously. On walks, I often lead him around like I'm conducting an important business meeting. We also enjoy professional-level wrestling matches and rowdy play sessions, so any future dog friends should appreciate a little roughhousing. I love toys, but honestly, a playmate might be even better. Why chase a toy when I can chase a friend? I'm very energetic and would thrive in an active home that enjoys adventures, walks, hikes, training, or any activity that doesn't involve sitting still for long periods. I can pull a bit when I first head out because the world is exciting and I have places to be, but I walk much better with a harness. I'm gentle when taking treats and already have some obedience training under my belt. My previous owners report that I'm a car ride enthusiast, housebroken, friendly with people, and obedience trained. One important thing to know: Vaquero and I were surrendered because our family couldn't keep us in the yard. We reportedly climbed or escaped a 5-foot fence, so I'll likely need a very secure yard or a home where I can be primarily indoors with supervised outdoor adventures. If you're looking for a couch potato, keep looking. If you're looking for a fun-loving, adventure-ready sidekick with enough enthusiasm for both of us, I might just be your spark.
