I'm Chispa -- a 9-year-old Belgian Malinois/Shepherd mix with plenty of spark still left in me! 🔥 Don't let my age fool you -- I love to stay active and have energy to spare when it's time for a walk, play session, or a good game of fetch. I'm also friendly and affectionate once I get to know you, and I've still got that playful, happy-go-lucky attitude that keeps life interesting.<br/><br/>I came to the shelter after my owner's health declined, and while I've lived peacefully with another dog and a cat before, I haven't loved meeting cats here -- so I might be hit or miss in that department. I'd do best with respectful dog friends and humans who understand my boundaries.<br/><br/>Speaking of which -- I can be a bit protective of my food and toys, so I'd prefer a home with kids 12 and up who understand that I like my space when I'm eating or playing with something special. I'm also not a fan of being restrained (the vet usually needs to give me a little something to help me relax during exams), so gentle handling and patience are key.<br/><br/>The good news? I'm housebroken, loyal, and full of love once you're in my circle. I'm ready to find a home that appreciates my big heart, spunky personality, and the wisdom that comes with a little life experience. ❤️<br/><br/>Requirements: Martingale Collar; Children 12yrs+ (due to Resource Guarding); Breed ExperienceAll of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.
