Chiquita (MD)'s Story

Color: Black Coat: Long-Hair
Pattern: None Gender: Female
Size: Tweenie Weight: 13 lbs
Age: 1 Year Category: Adult
Special needs dog? No Sanctuary dog? No
Spayed / Neutered? Yes
At-home adopter needed
Must have fenced yard
Needs dog buddy
No cats
No children
No large dogs
Chiquita is a little dachshund-spaniel mix who came to this rescue through no fault of her own. She was given up because her owners had too many dogs. Chiquita loves her humans once she gets to know them. She is an absolute sweetie and so lovable. She will sit on your lap for hours. She is a happy dog with a laid-back personality. She loves to go on walks and play with her little "soccer" ball. She often will show you her belly for belly rubs and kisses. She bats her face with her paws and loves hugs. She will come up to you out of the blue because she just wants to get a hug. She has been one of the sweetest foster dogs and gives us a lot of laughs. Her little ears, aka “satellites” will perk up often when she hears noises. She has been a joy to have around the house. She loves playing with other small dogs.. She is housetrained if taken out on a regular schedule, hates the crate and wants to sleep in bed with you.
Any adopter would need to exercise caution when opening a door as she tries to bolt out open doors. Being outside is fun for her but could also be dangerous if she runs out off-leash.. She needs an all-adult home, adopters who don't work outside the home, a high fenced medium-sized yard (she jumps high), a small young playful dog buddy in the home, no electric/invisible fences or pools, no cats.
