Chiquita Banana 's Story

Meet Taquita (aka Chiquita Banana)

Taquita is a six-month-old, 33-pound mixed breed puppy with a gentle and affectionate personality. She is laid-back in the home but enjoys playing with other dogs, and she quickly settles in for cuddle time afterward.

Taquita was one of our “yard sale puppies” rescued several months ago along with her sister Bella. Many may remember a previous post about the two of them and their difficult start in life. Since coming into our care, Taquita has continued to blossom.

She originally arrived with a broken hip that required an FHO surgery. She has done wonderfully during recovery and was cleared by her orthopedic surgeon on 1/26, making her officially available for adoption. She still has a slight limp but is healing very well and is expected to make a full recovery within the next month or so. She currently has no activity restrictions.

Taquita is fully housebroken and crate trained. She does well with children, cats, and other dogs.

A secure, fully fenced yard is required, as Taquita has been known to dig under fencing. She does not run off and typically goes to the front door to come back inside, but a secure enclosure is important for her safety.

Taquita is a loving, resilient young dog who has been through a great deal and is ready for a stable, permanent home.
