CHIP's Story

Meet Chip!

Chip is a 1.5-year-old Pit Bull mix who came into the shelter as a stray after being brought in by a CHP officer. This sweet boy is looking for a patient, understanding home where he can finally learn that the world is a safe place.

At first glance, Chip is very shy and undersocialized. New people and environments feel overwhelming for him, and he tends to cower, tuck his head, and try to hide when approached. What he needs most right now is time—time to decompress, time to trust, and time to build confidence at his own pace.

Chip is not a “ready-made” dog, but he is a very hopeful one. With gentle handling, consistency, and positive reinforcement, he has strong potential to grow into a more confident and well-rounded companion. He will need training not just for basic manners, but also for building trust in the world around him.

Because of his shy nature, Chip will thrive in a calm, low-pressure home where he is allowed to settle in slowly without expectations placed on him too quickly. Every small step forward will be a big win for this sensitive boy. Could you be the one to help Chip find his confidence?
