Looking for an active buddy? Chip is your dog. Chip is a 3 year old neutered male. He loves people and riding in the car!

Chip, like any good young cattle dog, has a lot of energy to burn through. Chip needs some sort of daily exercise and enrichment to keep him happy and out of trouble (running, hiking, etc). Chip does not do well with other dogs and has reactivity toward seeing other dogs on leash. He will need a home where he has his humans to himself and will need continued training and management to be able to be around any new dogs. He has a basis of positive reinforcement training for these skills and has attended a day training program as well as weekly classes with his foster home and will continue to thrive with an adopter committed to maintaining this training.
In return for a hard-working adopter, Chip has tons of charm! He is sweet and loves to snuggle. After he’s had his fill of exercise for the day, he would love to curl up and watch TV with you or just watch you go about your day.
Chip will require a fenced in yard and an adopter with prior herding breed experience. Prefer an adopter who can come to meet Chip prior to adoption. Chip has high prey drive and can be a bit jumpy/pushy so a cat-free home would be best, as well as older kids (13+ please!)
Chip weighs about 37lbs, is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on preventative vaccines and heartworm/flea meds. He is being fostered in Cleveland, OH
