CHINOOK...Super Sweet!!!'s Story

She is great with dogs/cats but shy with new humans so does need more time/socialization hence the lower adoption fee. Optimally she would go with another well socialized dog. We will NOT adopt her with her brother because he is shy as well.

CHINOOK is a fun, sweet, loving mixed breed female. DOB 10/15/25. The breed is unusual...we think he is a "white shepherd" mix. As a small puppy she looked like a little Polar Bear. She is starting to get some cream/reddish coloring to her feet. She currently has 1 ear up and 1 ear trying to come up. This will happen slowly as the cartilage strengthens. She will be a great family dog. She would also be good for an active person/couple that wants to hike, boat, or swim. Our best estimate is she will be 45-50 pounds

FOSTER COMMENTS: "Both these two sibling puppies are calm natured, love cuddles and are silky soft. Neither care much about cats, Chinook avoids them and Kodiak is curious but he’s easily distracted when he is told to “leave it.” They are both learning “sit” and working on potty training. Chinook looks a little cattle dog with the freckles on her feet but does not have the Heeler personality. She is the opposite of a Heeler. Chinook & Kodiak are fine with other dogs and neither is much of a barker. Kodiak will bark when he is unsure about something that is a little scary. Chinook has rarely barked except when she is playing with her brother. Both sleep in a crate through the night and do great and have been crated for breaks during the day. They are not high energy…more like couch potatoes. Their favorite food for taking pills is cheese and turkey and they LOVE Fresh pet!"

Check Out our YouTube Videos:
https://youtube.com/shorts/RFZ-jeoKIWU?feature=share
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dlKtKRreq4

ADOPTION FEES:
The adoption fee includes transportation to WA/OR. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog.

If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us you can ask us at shaynesrescue@gmail.com

You can also go to our Facebook page...
https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/
and LIKE us to help us out.

After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. Shayne's Rescue's Adoption Policy
Please understand we spend all of our available resources and time saving dogs from death. We are all volunteers. Please fill out an application if you have an interest as then we can approve you to adopt any pup/dogs from us. There is no point in sending in an inquiry w/o an application, as we cannot consider someone or have them meet a dog until we have approved your application. You can ask questions in the application. We think we are most reasonable to adopt from, all we ask is you will provide a loving and supportive home as a pet guardian for the dogs entire life. If something major unforeseen occurs you will always return the dog to us, never to a shelter or anyone else. If the dog is ever to go anywhere but back to us, we do need to approve that person/family beforehand.
