Chili's Story

Chili was adopted for a brief time and has been returned due to clashes with the grandkids. It is not unusual for a small dog — any dog really — to find little children to be puzzling at best and threatening at worst. Small children have little impulse control and are unable to read the (subtle) signals that dogs put out to protect themselves. And sadly, the family dynamic did not work for Chili.

Originally Chili arrived with two other dogs from a WV shelter. He was initially frightened but warmed up when he was there. Still nervous but will no doubt settle into the routine once volunteers begin to work with him again, he just needs a bit of time to adjust. He has discovered the treats he likes the best. Still wearing an e-collar after his neutering, better photos are coming. Chili is 15 lbs. and quite the darling. Chili appears to be some type of terrier mix — saying rat terrier but might JRT and is only a year old.

You can visit the dogs from noon - 3 pm Saturdays and Sundays, otherwise by appointment. We always recommend submitting an application (and a copy of recent vet records for your current pets if applicable) to info@aradopt.org.

Link to application: https://www.angelridgeanimalrescue.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Dog-Application.pdf
