Chika's Story

Chika is a Lab/American Staffordshire Mix who is about 44 lbs and is about 1 years old. She is originally from Texas but is loving life in a foster home in CT.

Chika has had a rough start in life. Found by one of our rescue volunteers after a 12 hour shift of work on the dark and rainy night sitting in the middle of the road as a tiny puppy who could fit in her hand. Chika was covered in fleas and ticks and had a server case of mange. The volunteer found a foster home for her and she was treated at a vets. The foster adopted her and raised her but recently the person fell on hard times loosing her husband and job and had to leave Chika. Chika then found her way into rescue and is ready for a new and loving home.

Chika is a little shy at first with new people but once she warms up she will be your best friend. She loves playing outside an running around freely. She likes other dogs and went to the dog park twice a week. Her favorite treat is a biscuit.
She came into the rescue with another dog named Oreo and they are currently in a foster home together. Chika would do best in a home with another dog.
