Chief's Story

Chief is a 3 1/2 year old male golden retriever who was surrendered to our rescue. Chief is very sweet and he loves other dogs. This boy came to us on April 21st a complete mess. His skin...awful and he'll needed three medicated baths a week for several weeks.
His ears were terribly infected, and he was slightly anemic with an elevated protein count. His nails were also about an inch long.
Chief saw an ophthalmologist soon after he arrived as we thought me night be going blind. He had a lipid build up from inflammation caused by episcleritis. This could also be caused by high cholesterol, triglycerides, or low thyroid. He had corrective surgery in June to fix this issue and he is doing so well. This surgery cost our rescue about $4,200.00, and we haven't raised nearly enough to cover this expense to date. So if you can help, please be a sponsor of Chief and we'll list your name on his page on our website. Thank you! Here is a direct link to make a donation:
https://www.paypal.com/donate?campaign_id=AQXNDLHURXRCU

As of the end of August, Chief just has remaining eye drops as his care. We had this surgery as he really couldn't see before and now he is doing great.

Chief is just 3 1/2 years old, weighs 88 pounds. He is the best boy, loves to play and gets along with other dogs.

Chief is now available for adoption. If you are interesting in taking this boy home, please read "How to Adopt" and follow the directions from there.
