Chief's Story

Chief is a sensitive, timid boy who has had a rough life. He was rescued from a terrible home situation. He was one of over a dozen animals living in a filthy, dilapidated home that was infested with fleas and rodents. Chief was starved for attention and his needs had been neglected for a long time. His foster mom has worked hard to show him the love and kindness he was sorely lacking. He has been fully vetted and he has come a long way with his house-training. Chief is crate-trained and he is working towards being fully leash-trained. At this time he does require a fenced yard but we are hoping that he will get more confident on a leash over time. Chief gets along well with other dogs and he previously lived with cats. He is fearful of children so he needs an adult-only home. Chief can be leery of new people at first but once you break the ice with him he’s highly affectionate and begs for your attention. He loves treats and that’s the fastest way to win him over. Chief will be a loyal, cuddly couch buddy for his new human(s). Though he requires a bit of patience in the beginning he will soon become your friend for life.

Chief Is a 12 pound Rat Terrier mix and he is about five years old. He is fully vetted -- neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations and deworming. The adoption fee is $300. We accept payment in the form of cash, CashApp and Zelle. You can apply to adopt at www.SOHFGA.com.
