Chico's Story

Hi, I’m Chico, which means Little Man! At only 4.2 pounds (my vet says my ideal weight would be five pounds), the name fits! I’m an eleven-year-old male chihuahua, fully vetted, vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on heartworm medication. I’m a sweet boy who deserves a home and companion…would you like to apply?

I was found abandoned as a stray. Since Chihuahua Rescue and Transport found me, I have improved so much! After having some dental work to resolve my tooth pain, I am really coming out of my shell and learning how to be a happy dog again.

I like to be close to my people, and I SILENTLY watch them eat, waiting for my treat afterwards. My foster dad says I am the only dog he has had in 20 years that has never had an accident in his house. Especially since I came directly from a shelter, that’s a big deal! Dad also says I have very soft fur, which strangely does not shed at all.

Due to my small size, I would do best in a quieter home experienced with miniature chihuahuas. I walk perfectly on leash, and do my business promptly. I am fine with other small dogs, but I do lunge at large dogs until I have become used to them. My vet said I also have some hearing issues due to infections, but I am responding to my dad sometimes now that I feel better.

If you want a small, quiet, soft, housebroken cuddlebug, then I am your (little) man!

Chico’s adoption fee is $250. We are too busy placing dogs in great homes to answer messages and inquiries through the listing site.

PLEASE GO TO THE LINK BELOW TO COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION.

www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application

CRT requires an approved adoption application and a home visit for all adoption applicants.
