Chico's Story

Chico is a sweet, people-oriented boy who enjoys being close to his humans. He loves affection and is happiest relaxing next to his person or cuddled in a lap. When picked up, he often rests his head on a shoulder, showing his calm and trusting temperament.

Chico was found wandering alone and was brought to our partner rescue, SOS el Arca Animal Rescue, by a kind passerby. At the time, he was frightened and disoriented. It was later discovered that Chico is deaf.

Despite being deaf, Chico navigates his environment very well and functions just like any other dog. He responds nicely to visual cues and benefits from a consistent routine.

Chico forms strong bonds with his caregivers and does best in a calm, structured home where expectations are clear. Like many young rescue dogs, he continues to build confidence as he adjusts to new environments and routines. He benefits from gentle guidance, consistency, and positive reinforcement.

Chico does well with other dogs, is good with children, and has shown no interest in cats. He enjoys companionship and being included in daily activities.

Chico is crate trained and fully house-broken. Because he is deaf, a fully fenced yard is recommended for safety.
