We require a detailed application, check veterinary and personal references, conduct phone or Zoom interviews (especially for out-of-state adopters), and sometimes do home visits for local applicants. We disclose all known health and behavior information so adopters can make an informed decision, and we look for a lifelong commitment, including a plan in place in case the adopter can no longer care for the animal.
