Chicken Nugget's Story

Chicken Nugget is still looking for his forever home! (Reno/Tahoe)

About Chicken Nugget: 20 odd lbs, 2 years old, Dachshund mix

• Healthy with no known medical issues
• Neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped
• Comes with free professional training support
• House trained and crate trained
• Good with other dogs
• Once he trusts you, he is incredibly loving… he enjoys snuggling, giving kisses, and being held
• Loves toys and playtime
• Not a barker and not reactive at fences
• Walks nicely on leash
• Has good house manners

Things to know:

• Chicken takes a little time to warm up to new people. He needs a patient family willing to go slow and let him build trust. Once he feels safe, he bonds deeply. Given his past, this is understandable…when he entered the shelter, he had clearly been neglected and left in poor conditions as he was covered in urine staining.

• He would do best with older children or a calmer home. Young kids with lots of screaming, running, and chaos can be overwhelming for him.
• He is nervous around cats, so any cat in the home would need to be calm and respectful.

Chicken Nugget would thrive in a peaceful household with people who understand that some dogs need a little extra time. Once he settles in, he is affectionate, gentle, playful, and an incredibly rewarding companion. Please text 775-442-3043 to inquire about adoption. We do require applications and home checks.
