This sweet boy spent the early part of his life being used as a stud dog and, once he was no longer “needed,” he was given away. Thankfully, a kind family stepped in wanting to help him start a better life. Unfortunately, they quickly realized that their home with several large dogs just wasn’t the right fit. They feared for his safety and reacher out to us for help. Chicago is now with us searching for the forever home he truly deserves.<br/><br/>Because Chicago previously lived outdoors and was never kept on heartworm prevention, he did test positive for heartworms. The good news is that he is currently undergoing treatment and is on the road to recovery with the care he should have always had. He will receive his final treatments in two weeks. We are hoping to go ahead and find his forever home so he can rest there while he is recovering. ❤️‍🩹 <br/><br/>Despite his rough start, Chicago is an incredibly happy, funny, and curious little guy. He still has some puppy-like playfulness and loves to romp around the yard as long as his person is near. When playtime is over, Chicago is also a snuggly little guy. He’s affectionate, loves curling up beside you, and is happiest when he’s close to his person—in their lap if possible! 🥰 <br/><br/>Chicago is ready for the chapter where he is loved and treated like family. He’s looking for a home where he can soak up attention, enjoy playtime, and finally live the life every dog deserves! 🐾<br/><br/>Chicago is crate-trained and house-trained, which should make the transition into his new home a breeze!<br/><br/>********************<br/>Chicago’s adoption fee is $600.<br/><br/>Preference is given to applicants located within the metro Atlanta area.
