Chewy

Chewy is an unfortunately aptly named 6 month old Golden Retriever. He was released to rescue because his owner could not afford surgery to remove an intestinal foreign body.<p><br/>He has recovered well from surgery, and adapted easily to his foster home. With the typical outgoing personality of his breed, Chewy has never met a person he doesn't like. He is uninterested in cats and friendly with other dogs.<p><br/>Chewy has abundant energy, and enjoys hikes with his foster pack. He rides calmly in the car, and will hang out quietly in his kennel at home, even when the kennel door is left open.<p><br/>Because of Chewy's chewing habit, he will need to be provided with appropriate chew toys, and watched carefully to avoid chewing (and swallowing!) inappropriate toys. The majority of dogs outgrow this chewing as they get older, but there is the chance that he may not.<p><br/>Chewy has been adopted by a very nice lady with plans to train him as a therapy dog for troubled children, a job we all expect and hope that he will excel at!
