I am 4 years old, and I weigh 30 pounds. I need a new home because my owner passed away. I am being fostered in Des Moines, IA<br/> <br/>I'm so tolerant and sweet with all kinds of dogs. I love all humans and am a very affectionate boy. I love to suckle my stuffies, chase the ball, and absolutely love treats. I give the best kisses and the vet even told me I have the biggest tongue they've ever seen! But all I want to do is be with my humans. I do get anxious if they arent around.<br/><br/> I do not like the kennel and am anxious when I am in it. In my previous life, I was use to an invisible fence so I see every doorway as an opening to go outside to explore, so I must be watched closely when my humans go in/out of doors.<br/><br/>I'm a healthy boy with an upcoming dental cleaning and Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrom surgery (BOAS) before going to a new home.<br/>It will make it easier for me to breathe! My foster family says I'm a "classic" boston and lean and muscular. I'm so fast and smart, I could even do agility!<br/> <br/>Here's a little more about me:<br/>Housetrained? Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.<br/><br/>MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue's Adoption Policy
There is no fee for submitting an application with us. We are not affiliated with any other organization so we do require our application to be submitted in order to be considered. We prefer applications be completed online, We DO adopt to families with fenced in yards or those that live in apartments/condos. MABTR offers a two-week trial period with each adoption to ensure your new dog is a good fit. You only need to complete one application per household, not per dog of interest. MABTR will do our best to help transport any adopted dog within the 13 states we serve. We do not adopt outside of our service area, no exceptions. It may take us up to four days to process your application as we review applications twice a week.
