Chester's Story

When we rescued Chester, he was barely 34 pounds. He was painfully thin, frail, and stained yellow from lying in his own urine for days. He was so malnourished that he wasn't even healthy enough to be neutered.

Today, Chester is a strong, handsome 50-pound boy, and seeing him healthy and happy feels pretty incredible.

Chester is about 2 years old, and we don't know much about the life he had before he came to us. What we do know is that he deserves a much better one from here on out.

He's had some training and knows his basic commands, walks well on a leash, and doesn't react to other dogs while he's out and about. He does have a few dog friends, but we think Chester would be happiest being the only pup in his home, soaking up all the attention for himself.

With people and children, Chester is incredibly gentle and sweet. He's still a work in progress, and he'll need a family willing to continue showing him patience, consistency, and love. But this boy has already come SO far, and he is absolutely worth it.

Chester survived the part of his story he never should have had to live through. Now we're just looking for the family who gets to give him the good part.

If you'd like to meet Chester, please reach out to us. He's ready to finally learn what it feels like to be someone's dog, in his own home, for good.

https://www.instagram.com/p/DaN5Cnijr8H/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsi=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Fill out an adoption application at the link below—we cant wait for you to meet him.
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HFGM/Dog
