Meet Chester!<br/><br/>Chester is a handsome 6-month-old male German Shepherd/Lab mix (we think) with a sweet personality and a bright future ahead of him. He and his sister were found as strays, wandering the streets and hiding in the woods to avoid passing cars. Thankfully, a wonderful foster opened their home to them, and now this sweet boy is ready for a fresh start and a family to call his own!<br/><br/>At just 6 months old, Chester is still growing into the amazing dog he's meant to be. With a mix of German Shepherd intelligence and Labrador charm, he has the potential to be a loyal, affectionate companion who loves learning, playing, exploring, and spending time with his people.<br/><br/>Like any puppy his age, Chester will benefit from continued training, positive reinforcement, and plenty of opportunities to explore the world around him. Both German Shepherds and Labs are intelligent, active breeds who thrive with consistency, daily exercise, mental enrichment, and lots of love. Chester would do best with a family committed to helping him build confidence, learn new skills, and grow into a happy, well-rounded adult.<br/><br/>Given his rough start in life, Chester can be a little timid at first, but once he realizes you're not going to hurt him, he begins to warm up quickly. He just needs someone patient enough to show him that the world can be a safe and wonderful place. He is currently being fostered with several other dogs and loves having canine friends around. He would love a dog sibling in his forever home, or at least plenty of opportunities to socialize and play with other friendly dogs.<br/><br/>Whether he's joining you on outdoor adventures, learning new things alongside his people, playing with his furry friends, or settling in for some quality time at home, Chester is ready to begin his next chapter with a family who will love him and help him thrive.<br/><br/>If you're looking for a young, smart, and loving companion to grow with your family, Chester may be the perfect match!<br/><br/>Chester is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas, but he is available for adoption and transport to many areas across the country. His $600 adoption fee includes transport.
