Cherub

Cherub is a spunky, affectionate adolescent with a BIG personality. He’s curious, incredibly smart, eager to learn, and always ready for his next adventure. He loves people, enjoys other dogs, and has a wonderful way of making everyone smile. Cherub is very treat-motivated and learns quickly. He can get jumpy and mouthy when excited. Consistent positive training and thoughtful handling will be especially important. Cherub is also learning to share special treasures. He has shown some resource-guarding around high-value items, so his family should use positive “trade” training, avoid taking things by force, and provide appropriate supervision. With patience, consistency, and good management, Cherub has every opportunity to develop wonderful habits. He loves squeaky and soft rubber toys, riding in the car, playing with little toys, and getting ear and booty scratches. He enjoys being picked up for a cuddle, too! Cherub can be unsure of loud or unfamiliar things at first, but his curiosity usually wins out. Cherub has also overcome a significant heart condition, receiving successful treatment for pulmonic stenosis through balloon valvuloplasty. He takes daily heart medication and will need ongoing veterinary follow-up, but he recovered beautifully and is back to his cheerful, energetic self! Cherub has all the ingredients to become an incredible companion. With training, structure, patience, and lots of love, this bright boy is ready to grow into his very best self.
