VIP: Cherry is a sweet dog just like her name! She is about 3 years of age and is housetrained. Cherry is an active dog who is good with children but may be best in a home without young ones. She is very playful and we are not sure how she is with other animals so a meet and greet with other dogs is needed. She did come in with another dog. Cherry went on a group dog walk and was very excited to get out of the kennel and go out for the walk. She is definitely housebroken and needed to go out as soon as she was harnessed. She needed to be loaded into the crate and didn't love being in it, whining for the first few minutes of the ride both ways. She did well with the other dogs on the walk, but did fixate on a smaller dog that passed us toward the end of the walk and needed to be redirected. The fixation wasn't aggressive at all. Cherry is a friendly girl who seems to be a smart one too! She really wants her forever home! <br/> <br/>Adopted animals are not able to go to their new home until spay and neuter surgery has been done. <br/>Adoptions are first come first serve, and no appointment or application is needed. Plano Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy

Adoptions are first come first serve. There is no application. Anyone over 18 years of age is eligible to adopt provided that they meet the adoption criteria for that specific animal. Criteria can range from having basic knowledge of the animal’s species or breed, having an established veterinary history, not having young children, the animal being legal to own in the city they live in, the breed they’re interested in being accepted at their apartments, etc. If a potential adopter doesn’t meet the criteria in place for that animal, they will be encouraged to look at other animals that may not have those restrictions in place. The criteria must also be met in order to visit with an animal.
