Chelle's Story
Hi, my name is Chelle, but I really don’t know my name! My foster family call me Little Dog and I run to them when they say come. I am a female Pug/Chihuahua mix, about 4 years old and I weigh 9 lbs.

I was found outside by myself and am a little bit afraid of outside. Therefore, I stay pretty close to my humans. But I don’t like to potty in the house, so I potty outside even though I’m nervous. Especially when it’s dark outside, that’s when it’s the most scary.

Cuddling with people is my favorite pass time especially with my foster dad, he’s toasty warm. I sometimes join into the cuddle puddle with the little dogs that live here. There’s a really big dog that lives here too, but I try to stay away from him. Sometimes I tell him to go lay down when he’s trying to play with me.

Typically I like everyone big people, little people, dogs cats and even birds seem ok. A quieter house would be great! One with some nice laps to cuddle up on.

I’m already spayed, no more puppies for me! I just had a dental cleaning, so my teeth are sparkling white. I do have knees that are a bit wiggly (luxating patella’s) but that doesn’t slow me down. The vet said I don’t need surgery. My foster mom says her heart dog had wiggly knees his whole life and never needed surgery. I guess a lot of little dogs have them.

I’m really just looking for a home that will make sure I’m safe, loved, warm and of course well fed.

Chelle is available to adopt in the Chicagoland area and is being fostered in a home. Appointments to visit her will be set up for approved adopters only. Adoption fee is $300.00 which includes all age appropriate vaccines, and she is already spayed and microchipped. Please visit our website at http://newstartdogrescue.org and fill out an application if you are interested.
