Cheeseball's Story

Who doesn’t love Cheese well we have someone you’ll love a lot. Meet Cheeseball a 4 year old Frenchie.

Yes we know he’s cute and this boy is sweet and social (except he doesn’t like cats - no exceptions) now we are going to be straight and to the point. He is a bite risk BUT if you understand his boundaries and needs this won’t be an issue.

Now we want to start this out that Cheeseball is an amazing dog with so much love to give, but we know the flood gates will open with him and our job is to find him the perfect home that’s best for him not the first adopter that comes along.

He does resource guard his toys, you try to take it without giving him an offering he will let you know his thoughts about it. He’s not a fan of fast movements and he doesn’t want your human paws reaching over his head - but that doesn’t mean you can’t pick him up or cuddle him - time has been spent learning his quirks and triggers and he needs someone willing to understand them and respect his needs.

Kids are conditional for Cheese - it’s not because he doesn’t like them, it’s because they may not understand his dos and donts. He spends lots of time with a 7 year old with no incidents but the 7 year old is very understanding of Cheese’s needs and respects them.

Now before anyone gets all judgey let’s talk about Cheese’s back story…. The amazing owner of The Pawsh Palace took Cheeseball in. When he came to her, he hadn’t seen a vet in 3 years, lived outside, terrified of the world, missing hair due to skin infections, bacterial and yeast ear infections, intact - the list goes on. Now he’s completely vetted, super social, and has learned to love life.

He DOES NOT need a foster. If you are interested in Cheese you have to be willing to put the time and effort in to make sure you’re able to meet his needs. What does this look like - approved application, initial meet and greet to understand his needs, follow on meet and greet with one on one time, and a home visit with Cheeseball. This might seem like a lot to most but we aren’t here for easy adoptions… we are here for the right adoptions - we are the dog’s advocates.
