Cheerios's Story
(6 months old, 36 pounds)

Personality: adaptable, smart, affectionate, playful, brave, sweet, energetic, friendly.

Meet Cheerios, a happy-go-lucky pup with a deep love for playtime and peanut butter. This sweet, curious boy loves long walks by your side, with lots of sniffing around and squirrel watching. At the end of the day, when his puppy fuel tank is spent, Cheerios will appreciate you scooping him up and carrying him to his bed.

Cheerios is a social butterfly and delights in meeting new people, whether they're coming over to your place or walking down the street. He's learning to tug less on his leash; his newest fashion statement, a front-clip harness, has helped tremendously. According to his foster parent, Cheerios has been very intrigued by the children he's met on walks, and will sit quietly as he accepts their gentle pets.

Smart and a good listener, Cheerios is quick to adapt to new places and eager to learn new things. He knows words like "sit" and "paw," and he's been practicing "lay down," "drop it," and "leave it." He's nearly mastered potty training, and he settles quickly when he goes into his crate, drifting off into a cozy nap while you're out.

Cheerios would thrive with an adopter who can help him channel his chatty puppy energy-his jumpy excitement when greeting new dogs, an interest in sticking his nose into your shoes-into good lifelong habits. Cheerios can switch his attention from things he shouldn't nibble when presented with an alluring dog toy, and he's ready to learn so much more by your side.

Are you looking for a joyful, outdoorsy, and loving new family member?
