Cheech in NJ - Giant Lap Dog!'s Story

Hi, I'm Cheech, and I’ve never met a human that I didn't like and try to get pets and head scratches from. And don't stop petting my head once you start or you'll get my Pyr Paw on your leg! Just like most Pyrs, I like to protect my home from potential invaders like the mailman, but unlike the others, I come when called! I'm what they call a "Velcro Dog" in that I like to be in the same room that you're in! I'm good when home alone by myself if you need to go someplace but I'm always very happy to see you come back. I'm absolutely the best on a leash walk, and I love to go for a stroll with you! I think rabbits and squirrels are oddities to scratch my head at, and don't see the need to chase them. I like a few stuffy toys and keep them nice and neat in my dog bed. My house manners are impeccable - no chewing on things except my dog food! I have a nice fenced backyard (a 5-foot fence is good with me), but mostly prefer it when my people go out with me. I love hanging around humans so much! P.S. - I'm housebroken and I don't dig!

NYS Registered Rescue # RR102
NGPR dogs are in foster homes at the location specified on their full listing. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
