Cheddar is a sweet and playful girl whose gentle demeanor will fill your heart with joy. Cheddar is also incredibly playful and affectionate, loving to snuggle up next to her humans for pets and belly rubs! She is great in the car and will sit calmly for the whole ride, leaning her head on you for reassuring pets. She has happily shared her kennel with other dog friends, but after meeting a cat at a volunteer’s house, she did not seem comfortable around them. Austin Animal Center's Adoption Policy

We encourage you to visit the shelter to start the adoption process and speak with a counselor to find out more about the animal’s you’re interested in meeting. Please note that completing an online application does not place a hold on an animal. Adoptions for animals currently in foster care are coordinated by their foster parents so once you submit your online application, please allow at least 72 hours for a response.
