Cheddar's Story

Just arrived 4/10 Cheddar is looking for a home! He was roaming the streets of Texas and was saved then held in a foster home before coming up to Colorado

This boy is 100% sweetness. He is settling into his foster home with another small senior dog and a cat but even with new stressors he is a very good boy. He is used to being outside on the streets so going into new places takes some adjustment but he responds well to snacks and doesn't take long to adapt. He loves to be outside but is learning to appreciate his new dog beds for rest and does well in his crate. He's medium energy and loves long walks but tends to flop and relax when he's inside with his people.

Gets along well with other dog and is calm and non-reactive with cats. He has not been around kids but I think he leads with calm and sweetness

Like all street dogs in Texas, he is Heartworm Positive. This is a non contagious disease that happens when not on prevention and living in humid environments. He is already started treatment (doxy pills for 30 days) and will need to complete three shots starting in June. This treatment is paid for by us at our Golden Vet.

All POSO Dogs come with:
- Spayed/Netuered
- Basic Shots (age appropriate)
- Fecal and 4dx testing
- other medical concerns addressed before adoption
- 2 Free one on one dog training sessions with a professional dog trainer
- Training received in foster home
- Basic things like some food, treats, leash and collar
- PDFs of training material and local coupons and dog sitter recommendations
