Chaya's Story

Hi, my name is Chaya!

I am a sweet, goofy and sassy lil' thing. I spent some time at Pups for Parolees. That means I lived with a parolee, and he worked with me learning how to be an even better dog than I already was! I'm kennel and potty trained. I learned many commands such as sit, stay, wait, off, shake. There were other dogs too and they were fine to play with, but I preferred to watch their silliness and be with my people. Check out my video and I'll give you a smile - I promise!!

My instructor called me a social butterfly because I love attention and being petted. I do have to admit I have lots of energy (hey, I'm young!!). I am easily calmed with slow long gentle strokes and a calm voice. I was still learning some things when I returned to the shelter (so you can meet me). I was learning the lie "down" command and not jumping on anyone so would you work with me on those 2 things? I'm improving but I just love to greet people with a big hug, and I have no idea why that isn't appropriate, but I'm told it is not so I'm learning.

I'm always excited to see my shelter friends every day. Can you imagine how much happier I will be to see my very own family every day? If you're looking for a gal that is happy, silly and party time is the greatest pastime, then come ask for Chaya!!

All my love,
Chaya xoxoxoxo
