He went into a foster home and started exhibiting some less than desirable behaviors such as:<br/>- nipping and herding the children<br/>- crate aggression and reactivity <br/>- destructive behaviors in the home<br/>- biting the foster<br/><br/>Unfortunately once this happens the choices are rescue or euthanasia. We stepped in to help. <br/><br/>Chase IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME but we are putting his story into the universe in the hopes that when he is ready, his perfect adopter finds him. <br/><br/>Since arriving we have made progress with the crate- he now willingly enters it whereas before he had to be physically put into it with a leash. His issue is not as much the crate as it is with the door closing. <br/><br/>We are working with him on his house manners- as of this post (12/16/25) he has literally none. <br/><br/>He is a horrible leash puller and jumper as well. <br/><br/>On a positive note, he LOVES people!! He LOVES children! He loves other dogs, he does great off leash with horses and cats and he is insanely food motivated. This is a dog that wants a job and wants to work 100%. Adoption fees are NON NEGOTIABLE.<br/><br/>1.) All dogs are adopted to the best possible match and calling or emailing the rescue will not speed up the process or liken your chances of being chosen.<br/><br/>2.) You will be notified by adoption coordinator if your application is approved. Adoptions are set up by appointment only. We do not have “hours” of operation.<br/><br/>3.) If the dog is posted as Available on Petfinder, it is available but may have pending applications and meet and greets set up.<br/><br/>4.) If you are not ready to immediately meet the dog you are applying for, please do not apply- we are too busy for window shoppers! Screven County Spay & Neuter Corp.'s Adoption Policy
Adopters are thoroughly vetted to find the absolute best fit for the animal. References are required as well as vet references. All adopters MUST fill out an application. You will be notified if you are approved to adopt. Meet and greets are set up by appointment only after you’ve been approved. You are able to take the dog home with you after meet and greet and that is preferred. We do not hold dogs so please do not apply or set up a meet and greet unless you are ready to leave with your dog! Any vetting done at your own vet clinic will be at your own expense. Spay/neuter included in adoption fee must be done by one of our local partner vet clinics.
