Charlie's Story

Meet Charlie! 🐾
At 15 years old and 10 lbs, Charlie may be tiny, but don't tell him that...this little guy runs the show.🤴
He's spunky, bossy, fearless around other dogs, and packed full of personality. Charlie is basically a grumpy old man trapped in the body of an adorable little senior, and honestly... we're obsessed with him.🤭
Charlie loves attention and affection, but on his own terms. He'll happily come snuggle up beside you when he's ready and wants nothing more than to be your tiny shadow while still keeping a little independence. 💛
His story is just as special as he is. Charlie was originally surrendered at an emergency vet when his elderly owner was entering hospice care and had no one able to take him in. Heartbreakingly, he was at risk of euthanasia simply because he had nowhere to go. Thankfully, an ER doctor stepped in and brought him home, where he has spent the last THREE years being loved and spoiled, but he is SO ready for his forever home.
In foster care, Charlie has lived with big dogs, small dogs, cats, kids, and adults -- and somehow still manages to be the boss of everyone. 😂
He loves trotting around the yard, supervising outdoor time, sniffing every corner, and fussing at the other dogs like the tiny manager he believes he is.
Despite all that sass, Charlie is an incredibly easy little dog to live with. He comes when called, sleeps through the night, is crate trained, potty trained, and has excellent house manners. He's not destructive, doesn't make messes, and even with only a few teeth left, he still happily crunches kibble and hard treats like a champ.
Charlie is ready to spend his golden years with someone who appreciates a confident senior with a huge heart and even bigger personality. 🥹
📍Based in Bryan, Texas. We offer nationwide adoptions and transport
💌Visit our website for the direct link to apply!

To apply to have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport, please visit our website at https://longwayhome.org/adopt.

❤
Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.
